SaM Solutions Held a Webinar on Spring Boot 2

On January 30, 2021, SaM Solutions’ Java team held a webinar on Spring Boot 2 and was pleased to welcome the well-known developer advocate Nicolas Frankel as a speaker.

Nicolas Frankel has more than 15 years of experience in Java development for the telecommunications, banking, insurance and retail industries, and the public sector. Specializing in Java/Java EE and Spring, Mr. Frankel is also well versed in technology fields such as rich internet applications, testing, CI/CD and DevOps. He is a frequent contributor and speaker at conferences in Belarus, Russia and Ukraine, and a talented teacher and IT writer.

“What’s new in Spring Boot 2?” was the topic of the webinar, which covered the following aspects:

  • Containers
  • Kubernetes
  • Code repository with examples
  • Security

“Nicolas Frankel gave a review of new capabilities of Spring Boot 2 up to its 2.4 version, and discussed the difference between Spring Boot 2 reactive support and a traditional Spring MVC. We also went through DevTools improvements, WebFlux support, Actuator’s capabilities and health checks in live-coding mode.

Special attention was drawn to building Docker images using Cloud Native Buildpacks, the placement of ready images in the Registry, Kubernetes integration, changes in configuration properties, lazy beans initialization and other new features and capabilities of Spring Boot 2.”
