SaM Solutions’ Java Developers Attended Voxxed Days Conference

On May 26, 2018, Minsk held one of the world largest events dedicated to Java development – Voxxed Days. The Voxxed Days Minsk has become the first-ever Voxxed Days conference in the CIS countries. It gathered over 700 regional and international Java experts, and more than 20 speakers delivered their reports on relevant topics.

SaM Solutions’ Java developers attended the event and Chief Java Technologist Aleg Katovich shared his impression:

“This conference is one the best Minsk-based Java events over the past few years. A renowned speaker Venkat Subramaniam mounted the conference with his contribution “Twelve ways to make code suck less” on the principles of code improvement.

The event was mainly dedicated to Spring Boot and Spring 5, and the presentation of a currency trading application based on Spring 5 and Reactor 3 was on the subject. Contributions on Web Sockets, Concurrency, Kotlin, Lombok and Jackson libraries, ElasticSearch application compromises and new features in the latest versions of Java were also very informative.

Various Java-related solutions were presented at the conference. For example, Fn Project – a FaaS Oracle-based solution for the rolling out of application functionality without the need to maintain the infrastructure and deploy the app. Exemplified by booking.com, a solution “Service mesh for microservices” demonstrated the arrangement of communication between microservices, their monitoring and resilience enhancement.

The contribution “GraphQL – APIs the new way” revealed the ways for frontend developers to be not bound to rigid endpoints, but configure queries and receive the proper data. “Debugging and troubleshooting Java-based microservices in Kubernetes” was dedicated to the monitoring and the refinement of microservices in Kubernetes on GoogleCloud Platform with StackDriver.

Our expectations of the conference have completely materialized: the audience got valuable insights on the innovations in Java development and the directions for further self-improvement.”
