Challenge
When OneTeaspoon approached SaM Solutions, their fast-growing Shopify store was reaching the limits of its existing setup. Over time, various incompatible third-party integrations had been introduced, resulting in:

A major issue was the store’s architectural dependency on external inventory systems. Instead of using Shopify’s native inventory management, the setup relied on:
- SKU Labs as the primary inventory source.
- Syncing between Shopify → SKU Labs → Shopify via DataJet and custom scripts.
- Multiple external integrations, including Global-E for international checkout.
This architecture created errors in fulfillment, refund processing, order routing, and inventory accuracy.
Additionally, OneTeaspoon required a custom loyalty program. No available third-party apps supported their complex requirements:
- Multi-currency loyalty balances
- Global-E compatibility
- Delayed reward logic tied to order fulfillment, not order creation
- Automatic prevention of reward generation for refunded orders
- Staff-user exclusion rules
- Flexible business logic tailored to their brand
Solution
SaM Solutions acted as OneTeaspoon’s dedicated ecommerce engineering partner, leading a complete cleanup and redevelopment of core systems.
1. Technical audit and architecture stabilization
We conducted a full audit of the store’s backend, third-party integrations, data flows, and inventory logic. Corrective actions included:
- Resolving SKU conflicts and mismatched stock quantities
- Fixing Global-E and SKU Labs configurations
- Removing redundant logic in DataJet
- Redesigning stock-flow mechanisms to prevent sync loops
- Improving order state transitions to eliminate duplicated or stuck orders
The result was a significantly more stable and predictable ecommerce environment.
2. Custom loyalty program app
Due to the limitations of existing solutions, SaM Solutions designed a custom Shopify app supporting complex business rules and global operations.

After Shopify released multi-currency Store Credits, SaM Solutions rebuilt the app’s core logic:
- Migrated from promo codes to Store Credits
- Credits are issued only upon fulfillment
- Automated refund-based credit adjustments
- Durable, scalable architecture compatible with Global-E
This system increased repeat purchases and customer engagement.

3. Additional improvements
SEO enhancements
SaM Solutions improved metadata logic, resolved indexing issues, and optimized the site’s technical SEO structure.
PLP refactoring
The previous PLP depended heavily on client-side JavaScript from the Boost App. SaM Solutions rebuilt the PLP with Shopify’s native server-side rendering to improve:
