In 2019, SaM Solutions experienced significant growth, opening several new offices. This expansion created internal communication challenges, including:

• Limited communication among specialists working in the same technical area but in different locations.
• Employees feeling uninformed and disconnected from updates on ongoing projects.
• Irregular and poorly promoted internal meetups leading to unpredictable attendance.

These communication gaps negatively impacted employee engagement and collaboration, highlighting the urgent need for a unified approach to internal knowledge sharing.

Solution

In the summer of 2019, SaM Solutions launched the internal SaM MeetApp — a comprehensive platform designed specifically to facilitate effective communication and knowledge sharing among employees.

Objectives of SaM MeetApp

• Establish a centralized platform for knowledge sharing and meetup organization across multiple office locations.
• Foster organized technical communities within the company.
• Engage employees in continuous collaborative learning and professional growth.
• Enhance the company’s reputation as a desirable employer within the IT community.

Technical implementation

Initially, SaM Solutions’ team developed a web version and native applications for iOS and Android. Later, a cross-platform version was created based on .NET MAUI (formerly Xamarin).

Communities

To build trust, encourage horizontal relationships, and promote continuous professional growth, SaM Solutions organized five distinct technical communities: Java, .NET, Frontend, QA, and BA/PM. Each community has a dedicated chief specialist responsible for driving engagement, planning training activities, and hosting meetups.

Topics

Recognizing the value of informal interactions, SaM Solutions encourages employees to propose not only technical topics but also personal development and general interest areas such as travel, psychology, and stress management. Regular surveys and post-event feedback ensure continuous alignment with employees’ interests and needs.

Speakers

Employees are actively encouraged to develop their presentation skills by participating as internal speakers. They receive corporate rewards and opportunities to attend external training sessions and conferences at the company’s expense. SaM Solutions also regularly invites external experts from various countries, including the USA, the UK, Denmark, and others, to broaden perspectives and diversify knowledge.

Promotion

To maximize event attendance and engagement, SaM Solutions assists speakers with professional presentation designs, promotional posters, and comprehensive event marketing via email and the SaM MeetApp itself. Post-event content distribution ensures continued knowledge sharing and insight dissemination.
