Challenge

To reduce ERP costs and gain flexibility, the client decided to migrate core business processes from Oracle’s NetSuite to Odoo while keeping all channels fully operational.

Key challenges included:

• Extracting and transferring all product, customer, and historical order data

Solution

SaM Solutions designed a controlled ERP migration that combined a custom data sync utility, optimized integrations, workflow adaptation, and cloud deployment.

Key implementations

• Custom NetSuite → Odoo sync utility
  Built a dedicated migration tool to sequentially import products, customers, orders, invoices, deliveries, receipts, and historical records, ensuring data integrity, continuity, and full traceability.
• Marketplace integration optimization
  Adapted existing integrations for Amazon, eBay, Walmart, and other platforms to use Odoo as the system of record, improving stability, error handling, and monitoring.
• Client workflow alignment
  Configured and extended Odoo to mirror familiar ERP workflows and preserved integration with the existing WMS so that internal teams could continue working with minimal process changes.
• Deployment on Odoo.sh
  Implemented separate environments on Odoo’s cloud platform Odoo.sh with more predictable deployment cycles and better visibility into resource usage and performance, resulting in reduced infrastructure management overhead.

This combination of controlled data migration, a robust integration layer, and managed hosting allowed the client to switch from NetSuite to Odoo without downtime or data loss.

After the migration, the client now runs core ERP processes on a more flexible and cost-effective platform, ensuring alignment between all marketplace channels and warehouse operations.
